FILE GUIDE · KEY SECTIONS

Scope-based suppression of terminal input echo

This small header declares a guard and terminal-query functions used by command-line input handling.

Line 8 ↗

Tie echo restoration to scope exit

NoechoInst declares a constructor and destructor; their implementation performs the platform-specific changes. The NO_STDIN_ECHO macro creates a local guard named _no_echo. Its lifetime is therefore the surrounding C++ scope rather than a permanent global terminal setting.

Line 15 ↗

Separate terminal identity from readiness

StdinTerminal asks whether stdin is a terminal, while StdinReady asks about immediate read readiness under the implementation’s platform rules. Neither declaration reads a password or parses an RPC request. Follow stdin.cpp before assuming identical behavior on Windows and POSIX.
