FILE GUIDE · KEY SECTIONS

Requesting scheduling appropriate for batch work

ScheduleBatchPriority offers a platform-dependent hint that the calling thread performs CPU-intensive, noninteractive work.

Line 13 ↗

A scheduling hint is not a resource limit

The comment points to SCHED_BATCH where supported. This declaration promises no universal priority level, CPU quota or memory cap. The implementation may do nothing on platforms without that scheduling mode, so callers cannot use it as their only protection against expensive work.
