1Bitcoin Core2=============4Setup5---------------------6Bitcoin Core is the original Bitcoin client and it builds the backbone of the network. It downloads and, by default, stores the entire history of Bitcoin transactions, which requires several hundred gigabytes or more of disk space. Depending on the speed of your computer and network connection, the synchronization process can take anywhere from a few hours to several days or more.8To download Bitcoin Core, visit [bitcoincore.org](https://bitcoincore.org/en/download/).10Running11---------------------12The following are some helpful notes on how to run Bitcoin Core on your native platform.14### Unix16Unpack the files into a directory and run:18- `bin/bitcoin-qt` (GUI) or19- `bin/bitcoind` (headless)20- `bin/bitcoin` (wrapper command)22The `bitcoin` command supports subcommands like `bitcoin gui`, `bitcoin node`, and `bitcoin rpc` exposing different functionality.
